Meet the Pack

Axel

Axel is a 9 year old staffie that came to us for rehabilitation work and to prepare for his Canine Good Citizen in 2009. However, after having him for a couple of months, we decided we couldn't send him back. He has come leaps and bounds since we first received him. Already he's helped numerous dogs in their quest to overcome aggression issues, as well as owners who are fearful of Staffordshire terriers. He's an ambassador for his breed, helping to change the stigma associated with this breed. His favorite thing to do is lounge in the sun and he's certainly never met a stranger. He will continue to work with us in our socialization classes and private sessions, as well as learn to pull carts.  He has gone through Basic Agility and has become quite the scent-tracker.

Flinn

Flinn came to us in the summer of 2011, through a local rescue group. She is a 6 year old deaf boxer that had been placed in our rehabilitation program for dog/dog aggression and resource guarding. She excelled in the program and has never left us. She loves agility and playing with her best buddy Harley. Her absolute favorite thing to do would be curling up with another pack mate and sleeping on the dog bed for hours on end.

Harley

Harley came to us October of 2011, she and her sister were being fostered by us for Austin Animal Center. I fell in love and became a foster failure. Harley has become our "go to gal" with training and currently has 92 commands under her paw. We are looking to break the record and will keep you posted ;)
Her favorite games are fetch, Trieball and tracking. Her favorite toys are sticks and JW bone balls.

Mac

Maverick

7 yr old border collie.  Maverick was rescued from TLAC at 6 months old in 2007.  Her favorite thing in life is working!  She LOVES the treadmill, and even after her session is over, will try to jump on with the other pack members as they run.  She has completed basic and intermediate obedience classes, knows several tricks, and loves to do agility and herding!  We loving call her, "Wild child", "Crazy Mavie" and "Yakkie". She likes to watch TV and listen to Amanda sing. Maverick had absolutely no social skills when she was rescued, and a very fearful aggressive side towards men.  She now works daily to help ALL owners, men and women rehabilitate their dogs focusing on fence fighting issues.

Patterson

Pretty Boy

Shelley

10 yr old catahoula cross.  Shelly loves to play ball and frisbee. Her nicknames are "Mama Shell" and "Shell Bell".  Shelly is one of the best maternal dogs in the pack, and is extremely gentle with puppies and any size dog. Her favorite snack is Cheerios, and she will eat them one by one with her front teeth!  Shelly joined the pack in April 2008, after staying to be rehabilitated for extreme fear.  Shelly came to us afraid of life in general and would army crawl instead of walk.  She could not "look" at anyone, and often hid with the slightest movement in the house. Today, she's developed more confidence being around the pack and has started working with us in our socialization and reactive classes.

Squish

Takoda

5yr old Siberian Husky. We acquired Takoda in 2008, through a very nice family who really loved her, but wanted her to do what her breed was meant to do; work. She has completed basic and intermediate obedience and now works to help other dogs get over their need to correct the crazy puppy.  We loving call her "Devil dog" and "Koda". She loves to romp around with the pack and her bestest play buddy is Maverick but she is becoming fast friends with Sonny & Ben.

Allie

12 yr old border collie mix. Allie joined the pack in 2007 and was taken from a local rescue.  Allie's favorite thing in life is toys!  She will play for hours on end tossing the ball to herself!  She has completed basic, intermediate, and advanced obedience classes.  Allie is one of our best "mommies" in the pack. She helps puppies learn how to play, along with helping adult dogs overcome their dog-dog aggression.  Her nickname is "Princess Allie" and "Allie McBeal" and she lives up to her diva status!  As she is aging, she now gets weekly massages provided by Christina from Skillful Paws.

Crash

10 yr old Siberian Husky.  Crash came to us in March 2008 through a client who relocated and could not take him. Crash's favorite toy is a tug squeak and he loves ice cubes. He loves to "supervise" your work and loves to play with the pack.  True to his breed, he is gentle and loving, and always looking to work.  Crash suffers from some separation anxiety and is in the process of being rehabilitated.  He has completed Basic and Intermediate and helps dogs in our socialization & reactive classes get over being around nervous dogs.

Peanut

10 yr old Chihuahua.  Peanut was rescued from TLAC's euthanasia list in 2007, because she was heartworm positive. Peanut loves to cuddle and be loved on! She tries to play with the pack (even though she is the size of their heads). Her favorite food is Mexican and her favorite movie is "Beverly Hills Chihuahua". Her nicknames are "lil P", "Goose" and "Miss P". Lil P had no issues that needed rehabilitating and works with us during social classes to help dogs overcome their small dog prey aggression.

Papa

8 yr old staffie. Papa joined our pack in 2010, and served as a working dog. He helped us in the communities, sessions and events to change views of those that may fear his breed. For more information about Papa, please visit our articles page, he has his own post. Papa passed this past spring in 2017.

Sonny

11 year old Boxer. He came to us from a client who could no longer handle him in 2010. He is a typical case of a misunderstood dog. Sonny is getting along wonderfully with all the dogs in our pack, including the unruly puppies. His favorite thing to do is watch "Cat TV" courtesy of the resident cat, Huntress.  He has completed basic and intermediate obedience, as well as helping other dogs get over their boxer prejudice.  Sonny loves to "woo" you at mealtime.

Stormie

Stormie & Tyler were my first pack members, they helped thousands of dogs get over their issues.
I will always love them and I am truly thankful for the years of love and devotion they gave me.
